Metzer · Universal Testing Machines
Metzer universal testing machines apply controlled force to a specimen and record its response. The portfolio includes single-column electronic, computer-controlled electronic and electro-hydraulic servo systems. A complete test setup combines the machine with suitable grips or fixtures, measurement accessories and control software.
Supported applications can include tensile, compression, bending and shear testing, with tearing or peeling on suitable configurations. The selected machine and accessories determine which tests can be performed.

Answers to common questions about universal testing machines.
Can one UTM perform several types of test?
Yes, when the machine and control system support them and the appropriate fixtures are fitted. A tensile setup does not automatically include compression, bending or shear accessories.
How do I select the force capacity?
Use the expected specimen forces and required method to define the operating range. The measurement range and accessories must be suitable for the actual tests, not only the machine's maximum load.
Is crosshead movement the same as specimen strain?
No. Crosshead movement includes effects from the test setup. Tests requiring specimen strain may need an appropriate extensometer or other measurement arrangement.
What is needed for a UTM quotation?
Provide material, test method, specimen drawings, expected force and extension, required fixtures, report format and installation space.
Send specimen drawings and the required tests to K K Geo System for a Metzer machine and accessory configuration.
