Measurement applications

What can you measure?

Measurement application

Electronic comparative measurement

Use electronic probes and compatible evaluation equipment to measure linear displacement or dimensional deviation from a setting reference.

Measurement application

Pneumatic diameter measurement

Use air plugs for internal diameters or air rings for external diameters. Match the tooling, evaluation unit, setting masters and regulated air supply to the measurement.

Measurement application

Multi-point dimensional measurement

Combine suitable probes and channels to evaluate dimensions at several contact points. Probe arrangement and signal combination determine the characteristic being measured.

Specify the complete setup

What to consider before choosing

Measurement task

Define measuring points, travel, tolerances and cycle time.

Compatibility

Match probe type and electrical interface to each amplifier or module.

Integration

Agree fixture design, software, data export and any external interface requirements.

Pneumatic setup

Specify bore or outside diameter, tolerance, surface condition and available air supply. Tooling and masters are matched to the application.

Frequently asked questions

Should I use electronic probes or air gauging for my component?

Start with the feature, tolerance, surface condition and inspection frequency. Electronic gauging uses compatible contact probes; air gauging needs application-specific pneumatic tooling and an appropriate air supply. Compare both methods on representative components.

Can I connect existing probes to a new Millimar display or module?

Provide the probe manufacturer, model, connector and signal type. The probe and input module must be compatible; the India range includes inductive and 1 Vpp incremental module options, which are not interchangeable.

What is needed for a complete air-gauging setup?

Specify the air plug or ring tooling, evaluation instrument, air preparation and regulation, and setting masters. Provide the nominal dimension and tolerance so the tooling and measurement span can be matched to the task.
