Comparative external diameter
Use an indicating snap gauge to compare shaft or pin diameters with a setting master. Select the gauge range, contacts and indicating instrument together.
Precision Gages · Mahr
Compare indicating snap gauges for external dimensions with thread and tap gauging arrangements. Keep the gauge body, contacts, indicator and setting reference matched to the specific inspection task.

Use an indicating snap gauge to compare shaft or pin diameters with a setting master. Select the gauge range, contacts and indicating instrument together.
Use a thread-measuring arrangement with contacts matched to the thread form and pitch. Specify the thread designation and pitch-diameter tolerance.
Use a tap-measuring arrangement configured for the tap geometry. Select the contacts and supports to suit the thread pitch, flute arrangement and measuring position.

Ranges refer to specific variants or sets. Confirm the exact model, configuration and accessories with your quotation. Display resolution is not a statement of measurement accuracy.
Identify the characteristic to be checked before selecting a snap gauge or thread-gauging arrangement.
For threads provide the form, pitch and size; for taps include the flute or lobe arrangement.
Specify contacts, crossbar where required, indicating instrument and setting master together.
Compare the 840 F indicating snap gauge with an outside micrometer for the actual production task. The India list includes 0–25 and 25–60 mm 840 F variants. Specify the nominal size, tolerance, measurement frequency and setting master.
Send the thread drawing with form, pitch, nominal diameter and the characteristic to be measured. For taps, include the flute or lobe arrangement. The contacts and, where applicable, crossbar must match the application.
Do not assume that the body alone is a complete measuring setup. Ask the quotation to itemise the measuring contacts, indicating instrument, setting reference and any tap-specific accessories.
Part drawing, nominal size, tolerance, thread or tap details where relevant, quantity and setting method.
