Metzer · Brinell Hardness Testers
Metzer Brinell hardness testers apply a ball indentation to a specimen, with the resulting impression measured to determine hardness. The portfolio includes bench instruments and a portable hydraulic arrangement. Select a system around the specified Brinell method, the material and the size and support requirements of the component.
Brinell testing supports hardness evaluation of suitable metallic specimens where the specified force, ball diameter and specimen geometry can be accommodated.

Answers to common questions about brinell hardness testers.
How is Brinell hardness determined?
The method uses a ball indenter under a specified force. The size of the resulting impression is measured and used to calculate the hardness value.
When should I consider a portable Brinell tester?
A portable hydraulic arrangement may suit components that are difficult to bring to a bench tester. The component still needs suitable access, support and geometry for the method.
Is indentation measurement software included with every tester?
Software and imaging hardware are configuration-dependent. The quotation should identify the tester and any measurement or reporting accessories supplied.
What information is needed for selection?
Provide the material, specified Brinell method, specimen dimensions, bench or on-site requirement and preferred measurement and reporting workflow.
