When should you use this service?

K K Geo System provides portable CMM and scanning-based dimensional inspection for manufacturing and fabrication requirements. The measurement approach is selected around the features, component size, access and specified tolerances.

  • Critical dimensional checks and CAD-to-part comparison
  • Pre-dispatch component inspection
  • Large fabricated assembly inspection
  • Concentricity checks and jig or fixture verification

What will you receive?

  • Inspection reports for the agreed characteristics
  • Comparison outputs where included in the scope
  • Adjustment guidance and remeasurement for fixture assignments

Deliverables, formats and checks are agreed for each assignment.

What experience supports this service?

Examples include a 22-metre metro wagon, inner-to-outer concentricity inspection of a hollow cylinder, and automotive sheet-metal fixture verification. Required tolerances are distinguished from instrument accuracy and measured results.

What should you send for a quotation?

Share the drawing or CAD model, characteristics to inspect, tolerances, component size, quantity and location.

What inputs, work and outputs should be agreed?

Your inputs Our agreed work Delivery
Drawing or CAD, datums, feature list and tolerances Measurement of agreed dimensions and geometric features Inspection report against the agreed reference

How is the assignment organised?

  1. Review: supply drawing or cad, datums, feature list and tolerances.
  2. Define: confirm measurement of agreed dimensions and geometric features, reference data, access or file-transfer arrangements and the deadline.
  3. Execute and check: complete the commissioned work and review the agreed coverage and outputs.
  4. Deliver: provide inspection report against the agreed reference with the agreed supporting information.

What should you know about the results?

The hollow-cylinder assignment used a FARO Quantum Max M for pre-dispatch inspection. Its specified tolerance of less than 0.025 mm must not be presented as an achieved result.

Frequently asked questions

Can you inspect a part before dispatch?

Yes. Define the features, tolerances and reporting requirement so the measurement approach can be assessed before inspection.

Does a specified tolerance establish scanner accuracy?

No. Measurement suitability depends on the equipment configuration, part, setup and evaluation method. The customer tolerance and achieved measurement results are different quantities.

How can we share confidential project information?

Start with a non-sensitive summary of the requirement. Agree NDA conditions and a suitable transfer method before sharing restricted files. Public project descriptions do not need to identify the end-customer.
